What to expect from your appointment…

You may have some questions about what to expect from your appointment, especially if you have not had a remedial massage session before.

I encourage you to contact me if you have any additional questions that have not been addressed below:

  • Attire – if possible, try to wear comfortable active wear or loose and light clothing. I often use techniques that can be applied to the body with and through clothing but also want you to be comfortable. There are some techniques/movements I may want to apply that work best with clothing on to protect your dignity/privacy. Also note that underwear/shorts must be worn to your appointment. Nudity during your appointment is not acceptable.

  • Payment – full payment is required after your appointment and can be made by either cash or EFTPOS. Please note any EFTPOS transactions will incur a 1.9% fee. If you are unable to make payment on the day, I will send an invoice and payment is required in 7 days. No further appointments will be provided until full payment is made. If you have private health extras cover, I will email you an invoice that has my provider number, you will then be able to claim directly with your provider.

  • Health information – you will be required to complete a new client details form which includes your basic information and some health information/background. Your information is stored securely and will not be provided to anyone unless legally requested. I also take clinical notes of all treatments. If you are seeing other health professionals and would like them to see your notes I am happy to provide this information on your behalf which is required to be confirmed by you in writing.

  • Consent – I am required to gain your consent to use any of the techniques I have been trained in. For clarity these techniques including the following; massage strokes (Swedish/sports/pregnancy/infant), trigger point therapy, Emmett technique, dry needling, lymphatic drainage, myofascial release, foot reflexology, myofascial cupping, and craniosacral therapy. If you do not consent to any of the above mentioned techniques then you must advise me.

  • Sessions – when visiting me for the first time I will ensure you complete the new client details form, discuss any health concerns and advise a treatment plan, give you an opportunity to ask any questions, and provide a safe and nurturing space. I have times available in 30, 60, or 90 minutes and allow 15 minutes between clients to ensure the space is appropriately setup and cleaned ready for my next client.
